Indicative result: SEO and store optimization affect both traffic and conversion rate.
Where a store’s Google traffic comes from
Category pages usually bring a store the most traffic because they answer broad queries such as “women’s hiking boots.” Product pages capture keywords that include the model name and specifications. We optimize both levels, starting with the categories that have the greatest potential.
Category descriptions
A category description helps shoppers choose a product: it explains the differences between types, suggests what to look for and links to subcategories. We place a short introduction above the product list and the longer part below it, so products are not pushed down the page.
Filters and pagination
Filters can generate thousands of URLs with the same content. We determine which filter combinations have their own search demand and deserve to be indexed, and we exclude the rest with canonical tags, noindex or robots.txt rules.
Unavailable products
Removing a product overnight means losing the traffic and links it has collected. We keep temporarily unavailable products online with availability information and suggested alternatives, and we redirect permanently discontinued ones to a successor or the closest category.
Questions about e-commerce SEO
How does SEO for a store differ from SEO for a website?
A store has far more pages (categories, products, filters) that need to be optimized and protected against duplication. Product data, category structure and purchase intent matter most.
How do you handle duplicates created by filters?
We control URL parameters and use canonical tags, noindex and correct indexing rules so Google indexes valuable pages instead of thousands of duplicates.
Should SEO be combined with Google Shopping?
Yes. SEO builds lasting organic sales, while Shopping/Performance Max adds fast product traffic. They work best together.
How long does it take to see results in e-commerce?
The first gains usually appear after 3 months and a clear improvement in sales after 6, depending on your catalog and competition.
Which platforms do you work with?
WooCommerce, PrestaShop, Shopify, Magento and custom-built solutions.
Are manufacturer product descriptions enough?
The manufacturer’s description usually appears in many stores, so Google has no reason to favor your version. For your best-selling products we write original descriptions with specifications, use cases and answers to customer questions.
What should you do with products you no longer sell?
We redirect a permanently discontinued product with a 301 to its successor or the closest category. That way you keep the links and traffic its page has collected.
